By Oyl Miller. 2012.
When you consider a thing,
Be it object, person or idea,
Ask yourself just one question:
Is the thing true?
Does it ring out with pure intentions,
Or does it bear the hollow aftertaste of fakery.
Is it sturdily pinned into the ground, driven with the hammer of truth,
Or does it stand to blow away at the first winds of discontent.
Does it rally together empassioned believers,
Or does it wander the back alleys of disillusionment.
Is it willing to scream until its lungs go dry,
Or will it go silent with one dirty look.
Is it proud of its own skin and history,
Or does it rush to cover and hide behind sheeps clothing.
Is it beautiful to witness as it declares its purpose,
Or does it make you cringe at its first false words.
Is it worthy of your love,
Or just a passing like.
Does it freely unravel some mystery of the universe,
Or does it mindlessly barter in regurgitated gossip.
If you can answer the former on all these counts,
The thing is certainly worthy of your wholehearted embrace.
